Today I received during installation of a Small Business server 2011 an error that the network interface couldn’t be found. I was installing SBS 2011 on a HP Proliant ML 350 G8. Unfortunately I haven’t a print screen of the error. How ever below the solution when you get it. First of all there isn’t a Smart start cd for this server there is a Recovery media available online. (which i don’t know what it is yet.) and a service pack of HP. (which i didn’t use) ..
When you get the message during the SBS setup you have to do the following. Download the Proliant Support Pack from the HP support page. Extract this file, and look for the bp001183.txt file.
You will see a list of network drivers:
cp010961.exe HP NC-Series Intel Driver for Windows Server 2008 x64 Editions
cp012821.exe HP NC-Series Intel E1E Driver for Windows Server 2008 R2
cp013881.exe HP NC-Series Intel E1Q Driver for Windows Server 2008 R2
cp015326.exe HP Intel E1R Driver for Windows Server 2008 R2
cp015333.exe HP Broadcom 1Gb Driver for Windows Server 2008 x64 Editions
cp016872.exe HP Broadcom 1Gb Multifunction Driver for Windows Server 2008 x64 Editions
cp016313.exe HP Broadcom 10GbE Multifunction Driver for Windows Server 2008 x64 Editions
Unzip these files, with 7zip to an USB drive.
Place the USB drive into the server and choose Install drivers. now you can install the network drivers for your system and the setup will continue installing.
great solution, I have been looking for this driver for hours!
