Microsoft Lync on Mac OS X | how to install / connect with Microsoft Lync for Mac.

How to use / install Microsoft Lync on Mac OS X.

You can find the installation files via the following link: http://onlinehelp.microsoft.com/en-us/office365-enterprises/hh180727.aspx the site also describes how to install the software. ( select option 3 Lync for Mac 2011 ) to download the DMG file.
After installation you will see the main screen of Microsoft Lync

When you try to log on you need to use your email address ( 2 times ) 1 time for email address and 1 time for user ID.

You could get an error if you logon directly.

The message “Sign in to Microsoft Lync failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the internet” is not really normally but it’s a bug or a feature. Who will know. You can avoid this message to change the settings via Advanced.
You have to change the connection settings.
Enter for the Internal and External Server name: sipdir.online.lync.com:443

Click on OK when finished. Try to login again.

If you have outlook 2011 for mac configured you can directly create a mail or calendar appointment via Lync.

Depois de muito tempo tentando resolver esse problema de fato agora funcionou, muito obrigado.

  2. Hi, sorry i have the same problem but on an On Premise infrastructure. it doesn’t function with automatic configuration but with manual yes. Is the same solution for this scenario?
    Tnks in advance.

  3. A side note. I have an internal Windows domain with a local Certificate Authority in AD, and a local hosted Lync 2010 system. The occasional Mac/Lync client needs the domain internal Root Ceritficate installed in their local “SSL stores” to have the automatic config work.

  4. Hmm is anyone else encountering problems with the pictures on this blog loading?
I’m trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the
blog. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
