Microsoft Hyper-V | Installation error Windows server 2012R2 | “A virtual disk support provider for the specified file was not found”

Yesterday I walked into an error of Windows Server 2012 R2 on Windows server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V. When i tried to install it in a virtual machine generation 2 version. (note: virtual machine generation 1 doesn’t have the issue with Windows server 2012R2)
I got the following error: “A virtual disk support provider for the specified file was not found”
Below I made a work-around solution
When you add a new server based on Generation 2 of Hyper-V

Name the server

Select Generation 2

Configure the memory you want

Select LAN segment

Select disk size

Select installation media

Finish configuration hyper-v session

Select the virtual machine and click on connect

Start the session

You receive the following error “A virtual disk support provider for the specified file was not found”

Whatever you do, you are unable to start. To fix this as a work around you need to have another version of windows. I used windows server 2012, which is suitable for installation on hyper-v generation 2
Insert new disk

Select the windows server 2012.iso (not the R2 version)
When you start the virtual machine you will see the following. NOTE: Don’t boot from the dvd/cd-rom

Click on Media

Select now the windows server 2012R2 iso file. And press the CTRL+ALT+DEL button
The hyper-v session will now boot from the dvd iso from windows server 2012 R2

After the installation you see under settings the following boot file.

This boot file indicates the correct boot sequence for the machine.
